Discord Has Wrongfully Terminated Solara — Again

Once again, Discord has terminated the official Solara community server under the label of "Malicious Conduct." This is not the first time. It’s part of a repeated pattern of unjustified actions taken against Solara — a legitimate software brand — while truly harmful actors get a free pass.

We have been targeted since around only 2 months after the initial release of Solara in April 2024. From launch until now, Discord has demonstrated a persistent pattern of overreach, removing our spaces and disabling accounts without warning, context, or fair process. This is not an isolated incident — it's part of a year-long campaign of biased enforcement.

Mismanagement and Policy Failure

Discord claims to care about safety and fairness, yet their internal handling of reports and enforcement actions says otherwise. There is something deeply wrong with how they process, classify, and act on enforcement decisions. The Solara server was terminated with no warning, no opportunity to rectify anything, and no clear explanation.

During the first termination of our Discord server using the vanity URL discord.gg/getsolara, Discord failed to ban or lock the vanity. This gross oversight allowed malicious actors to immediately claim the URL and use it to spread false information about Solara. This is a textbook security failure — vanity URL takeovers are a known vector for impersonation and misinformation, and Discord enabled it through sheer negligence.

It’s important to understand the scale being targeted here. Each official Solara server consistently reached close to 200,000 members — a substantial community that was wiped out overnight, with no consideration for the real users involved or the long-term harm done by these removals.

The Current Solara Server Broke No Rules

The terminated Solara server contained no software distribution, no cheat-related content, no ban evasion, and no encouragement of policy-violating behavior. It functioned purely as a community discussion space — compliant with every aspect of Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

We acknowledge that cheat development and usage violates Discord's Terms of Service. But nowhere in the Terms does it prohibit discussing or housing a community centered around such topics — provided that no cheats are being distributed or promoted. That is precisely what Solara adhered to. No files were hosted. No links were shared. Moderators enforced those boundaries.

Discord Is Alleging Fraud — Publicly

In the EU Transparency Registry, Discord has gone further — alleging that Solara was involved in illegal activity, scams, and fraud. This is not only false, but a reckless mischaracterization. There is no evidence of any criminal behavior. There is no fraud, no financial scam, and no deception. These statements damage reputations and cross into defamation.

Unequal Enforcement of Policies

We’ve seen it repeatedly: Discord applies vague terms like "malicious conduct" to silence creators they don’t like, rather than go after actual malicious actors. Servers running real cheats, scam campaigns, and even ransomware lures remain online.

Meanwhile, Solara is banned for technical discussions, reverse engineering talk, or simply existing under a name they’ve arbitrarily flagged. These decisions are inconsistent, biased, and harmful.

The Shapes Inc. Example

Solara is not the only victim of this broken system. Shapes Inc., another independent project and brand, faced abrupt enforcement from Discord without warning, context, or review. Like Solara, they were flagged with vague accusations and cut off without explanation. Their removal highlights a broader issue: Discord’s enforcement is driven by automation, devoid of transparency, and lacks meaningful recourse.

Automated Appeals, No Accountability

Discord’s so-called "appeal process" is a joke. Automated responses, zero human review, no transparency. Even high-profile community developers get ghosted.

Solara’s Reputation and Legacy

Solara has taken active steps to distance itself from any form of malicious behavior. We’ve REMOVED malware content from Discord via DMCAs, migrated operations to independent platforms, and more.

Despite these good-faith efforts, Discord continues to retaliate under the false flag of "safety." These enforcement decisions demonstrate not protection — but failure. A failure to correctly identify risk, and a failure to provide fair treatment.

Call to Action

We urge observers, developers, and digital rights advocates to take note of Discord's inconsistent policy enforcement and baseless accusations. If this can happen to Solara — a brand working actively to remain compliant — it can happen to anyone.

Ask questions. Demand transparency. Hold platforms accountable when they act without due process. The integrity of entire developer communities depends on it.

A new community space will be established at the earliest opportunity. .
